The value of Capacity is to know how much hybrid battery life is left in NUMBERS and not in words! We know that. We increase the capacity.
About Us
Our company specializes in repairing and restoring hybrid batteries using professional equipment. Unlike other services, we replace all cells, not just a few. Moreover, our advanced equipment allows us to increase the capacity (mAh) of each cell.
How Hybrid Batteries Work
Hybrid batteries use nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) cells. Each cell has a specific voltage (V), capacity (mAh), resistance (Ohm), and energy (kJ). For the battery to function properly, all cells must have the same voltage. Even if the voltage is balanced, the car may start, but the battery’s lifetime depends on its capacity.
Additionally, if cells have different capacities, the weakest cell limits overall performance. Charging all cells without balancing capacity creates an imbalance. Even with equipment that measures capacities, values can differ by 20% to 40% between cells.
Why Cell Balance Matters
During acceleration or braking, the weakest cell bears extra energy. As a result, this can trigger errors or overcharging. These issues are often related to weak HV battery modules. Think of it like car tires: all wheels must be the same size for a smooth ride. Similarly, cell capacities should match within 1–2%. Then, the battery works evenly and lasts longer.
Our Professional Equipment
A new hybrid battery has about 6500 mAh. In contrast, a worn battery may drop to 2000–2800 mAh, causing poor acceleration and increased fuel consumption. Luckily, our equipment can raise the capacity to 4500–5300 mAh.
Some older cells reach 3500 mAh and are discarded. Others reach 4550 or 5100 mAh. After sorting, over 1000 cells are combined into batteries with less than 2% difference in capacity. This process removes weak cells and ensures balanced performance. You can learn more about the full restoration process in our guide on how hybrid batteries are reconditioned.
Battery Life Calculations
A new hybrid battery loses about 4000 mAh in 10 years. By raising a 2500 mAh battery to 5000 mAh, we restore roughly 6.25 years of life. However, since the chemical composition is older, we apply a 40% reduction, resulting in approximately 3.7 years of extra life.
Our Warranty
We now offer 1-year, 2-year, 3-year, and 4-year warranties, depending on the restored capacity level and battery condition. Additionally, for Toyota Prius models, we provide an extra 6-month warranty option.
We avoid making unrealistic promises about long-term performance, but under ideal operating conditions, extended battery life is achievable. Ideal conditions include:
- A properly functioning cooling fan
- Smooth driving habits
- No exposure to extreme temperatures
- High-quality gasoline
Why Professional Repair Matters
If a seller cannot provide the capacity of each cell, they likely don’t know it. Repairs done without measuring capacity and resistance are risky. One wrong cell can cause a short circuit. Additionally, replacing only a few cells without checking all data is unreliable and costly. Many drivers wonder whether new cells can save an old hybrid battery, but without proper balancing this approach rarely works.
We moved from “blind repairs” to professional, precise restoration. Our method ensures all cells are balanced, capacities are measured, and weak cells are discarded. As a result, the battery performs optimally and safely.
Benefits of Proper Repair
With proper repair:
- Fuel consumption may improve by up to 10%
- Acceleration improves
- Some models may fail inspection without a good battery
- Low battery power forces the engine to run more often, increasing emissions
Moreover, a balanced, high-capacity battery extends the car’s life and improves overall efficiency, especially in models such as the 2013 Toyota Prius hybrid battery. This makes a noticeable improvement even for older models like the 2007 Toyota Prius hybrid battery.
