to reverse the aging process and recondition the battery. This process breaks down
crystal formations and voltage depressions inside NiMH modules or cells.
What Is Battery Cell Balancing?
Reconditioning recovers lost capacity. When reconditioned cells are sorted and positioned
for optimum performance, the battery pack becomes balanced. The process includes:
- Identifying high-resistance cells (greater than 20 mΩ per cell).
- Sorting and selecting cells for pack assembly based on amp-hour or watt-hour capacity.
- Pairing cells into blocks according to both voltage and capacity.
